Thought Brett Favre was gone for good? Think again! The old gunslinger is back in action after signing a 1 year $18 million contract with the Cleveland Browns in a deal that has sent shock-waves through the NFL.
The deal was announced during a press conference that feature Ray Farmer, Mike Pettine, and, of course, Brett Favre. Neither Farmer or Pettine could hide their smiles at the signing which means they no longer have to start Josh McCown or Johnny Manziel in the upcoming 2015/16 season – a situation which was giving both of them night terrors.
“I was waking up in a cold sweat every night. My dreams were filled with visions of Josh playing like he always has – save for those few games with the Bears – and Johnny scrambling his way straight back to rehab. I knew I had to do something,” said Ray Farmer, the GM of the Cleveland Browns.
However, Brett Favre (45) seemed less enthused with his new found team.
“I’ve made a huge mistake,” cried Favre, “This is a new low, even for me. I got the call and said ‘yes’ without really thinking about it. I was just waking up from a nap and I was confused. I suppose at least I can stop that Frankenstein-headed fuck, Peyton Manning, from breaking my career passing yards record.”
Cleveland Browns fans were jubilant at the news. Most have already added and crossed out Josh McCown from the back of their jerseys.
AFC North defenses didn’t seem worried about the addition of Favre to the division though. We spoke with Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens and he told us “Dirty white boy ’bout to get got!” whilst licking his lips.
Whatever the result, this NFL season just got a lot more interesting.
