Southgate leaves Alan Shearer and Gazza out of squad, causing anger amongst 1990s football fans

Football fans from the 1990s are furious after learning that manager Gareth Southgate has left both Alan Shearer and Paul Gascoigne out of England’s 33-man provision squad for the Euro 2020 campaign.

England will be left without their best striker and midfielder from the 1990s after what is being considered a ‘massive oversight’ by manager Gareth Southgate.

‘How are we going to score any goals when our best striker and playmaker aren’t even in the squad?’ asked ’90s football fan Frank Baddiel.

While fellow ’90s football fan David Skinner told us: ‘I don’t recognise any of the names in this squad. Where’s David Batty, Paul Ince or Darren Anderton? And how did a centre-back who’s shit at penalties suddenly become the manager?’

Alan Shearer will instead spend the tournament as a TV analyst while Paul Gascoigne plans to go fishing with any fugitives in the area.
