The Blackout Crew to receive MBEs for services to putting a donk on it

The Blackout Crew have been named as last-minute additions to the New Year Honour List, with each member set to receive an MBE for services to putting a donk on it.

The Bolton based bouncy house group rose to stardom back in 2009 with their hit single “Put a Donk on It”, a song that inspired millions of people.

“I didn’t even know what a donk was until The Blackout Crew taught me. They were the first ones to really raise awareness of putting a donk on it.

“Now I can’t even imagine what music would sound like without a donk on,” one fan told us.

Queen Elizabeth II herself personally pushed for The Blackout Crew’s long-overdue recognition.

“One wanted to Honour them many years ago but Philip was never a fan, which was strange because he often talked about wanting the blacks out,” she said.
