“It’s the Conservative PARTY, not the Conservative WORKY,” says Boris Johnson

In a surprising turn of events today, Boris Johnson has admitted to being the leader of the Conservatives, but he has claimed that he didn’t realise it was a job.

“I’ve been with these Conservatives for a number of years now and I tell you, I had no idea that it was a job.

“I mean, there have been quite a few drinks and an awful lot of slap-up meals, not to mention a bit of bonking (but, for Heaven’s sakes, don’t tell Carrie!) so, to be honest, I just thought it was a party.”

Questions have been raised in some quarters as to whether someone who is incapable of telling the difference between a job and a party is entirely suitable for the role of Prime Minister of what was once regarded as a serious nation.

“Well, I don’t think it’s my place to answer that,” replied Mr Johnson. “I don’t do tough questions, so I’m resigned to waiting for a civil servant to answer that one for me.”
