Jacob Rees-Mogg calls for Britain to return to the Julian calendar

Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg has today called for Britain to return to the Julian calendar now that the nation is free from the EU.

Britain has used the Gregorian calendar since 1752, but Jacob Rees-Mogg believes that it’s high time that the Julian calendar was restored.

When asked why Britain should return to the Julian calendar, Rees-Mogg told us: “I don’t know, really. It just feels like the sort of thing I should want.

“It’d be such a nonsensical and anachronistic move that it makes my heart flutter just thinking about it.”

Sadly, for Rees-Mogg, it would appear that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has no desire to switch back to the Julian calendar.

“It would eventually mess up my list of appointments with my mistresses,” he told us.
