Putin calls off Ukraine invasion after receiving a bumper crop of Valentine’s Day cards

Vladimir Putin has called off the Russian invasion of Ukraine after he received a bumper crop of Valentine’s Day cards from leaders around the world.

Putin has spent most of the day opening his cards and placing them around the Kremlin, with a big smile on his face.

But the President of Russia found time to announce that he no longer intended to invade Ukraine.

“I just wanted some attention. I get very lonely at times and it’s so bitterly cold here. All of these displays of affection have really warmed my heart though. I will call back my soldiers, I have everything I need now,”
he told the Russian press.

President Putin now plans to spend the rest of the day in his fluffiest dressing gown while led on his stomach, eating chocolates and watching romcoms.

“I’m going to start with ‘Fools Russian’ and ‘When Vlady Met Sanya’. Then I’ll see where the night takes me,” he said.
