Rules only have to be obeyed if you earn less than £100k a year, Boris reminds public

Boris Johnson has today reminded the British public that rules and laws only have to be obeyed if you earn less than £100k a year.

The prime minister gave the public the reminder after news broke that he and his wife broke Covid rules by having a friend stay with them over Christmas last year.

With much of Britain in lockdown over Christmas, Brits were essentially banned from spending the festive period with anyone they didn’t already live with.

But that wasn’t an issue for Carrie and Boris Johnson.

“We didn’t break lockdown rules because they didn’t apply to us in our situation. We earn over the threshold which means we can ignore rules and laws, as can anyone who earns over £100,000 a year,” Boris told the media.

Boris then blew a raspberry and stuck two fingers up at the members of the press in front of him. This elicited laughter from journalists and furious typing about how likeable Boris is.

“He’s a man of the people!” reported one journalist.
